I drew a shape using the line tool and then did Modify: Join to join all the lines together. Now I would like to fit a picture into the shape. so I thought I'd take the shape and paste it as a mask over the picture...

Here's a link to view the shape and the picture if it helps:

The paste as mask feature always works when using a simple square or circle so obviously the problem here has something to do with the fact that the shape is made from separate lines joined together... (I also noticed that when I try to fill in the shape with a color, the color kind of surrouds the shape but doesn't go inside the shape.. )Does anybody know how to take this shape and successfully paste it as a mask over the picture so that the picture fills the shape ..? thanks in advance!

Hi Flasher,

You might try using the Pen tool instead of joining lines. I created a shape with Pen, copied a picture to the clipboard and then did an Edit-Paste Inside. I think that will do what you need.
