Hi - we just upgrated from notes4.5 on win95 to R5 on win2k. Whenever I start notes, I get an information box saying "Your windows account password does not match your notes password. To synchronize passwords, use File-Tools-User ID and Click Set Password" with an OK button.

Thing is - I don't want notes to synch with my win2k password for security reasons - I do in fact want to keep them separate.

Is there any way I can get this silly message box from popping up every time I sign on.

Thank you. How much more water would there be in the ocean if it weren't for sponges?

You simply need to stop the 'Lotus Notes Single Logon' service which can be found in Control Panel --> Admin Tools --> Services (or Control Panel --> Services in NT4.0)

IMPORTANT: To ensure that this service isn't started automatically when the machine is rebooted set the 'Startup type' for this service to disable or optionally set to manual.

cool beans. thank you. I will try this and post back.
much obliged. How much more water would there be in the ocean if it weren't for sponges?
