Have a IP500 with embedded mail on 5.0(8). I need a way to password restrict outbound calls from a single extension. Customer does not want an Extension Login button. I know with voicemail pro i could accomplish this but looking for a way to do it with out VM Pro.

you could use forced account codes on that user. then make 1 account code on the system for people to use

You need to use authorisation codes

The easiest way is to use a "user shortcode" on that user.

Add:
Code: 1234N
Feat: Dial
TelN: N
Line: 0 (or the line id you preffer)

And add:
Code: ?
Feat: Barred
TelN: .
Line: 0 (or the line id you preffer)

The user needs to press 1234 and the the number he want's to dial out. If you use account codes the you might have trouble to transfer external.

I'd go with Bas's suggestion, it's the quickest and easiest :)

Thanks for all the responses. Since my customer is multi-tenant on the IP500 with dual ARS codes 9 and 8 prefix i went with the account codes. I tested on my test switch and it works but like Bas1234 said the transfer external was some trouble but luckily that user isn't allowed to transfer external. So it works like a champ. Thanks!!!

You welcome, Thnx for the star.
