I just purchased a used SSC on ebay for my Home/Lab system and don't know the password. Can somebody help me reset it to the default? Thanks!

The PDT procedure doesn't seem to work as advertised.. I'm probably missing something.

PDT: login on /sio/0

The procedure that you are trying won't work if the pdt passwords were changed.

We can't discuss the accounts and passwords in detail on this forum but I can say that you could try to obtain the site ID number from the dongle first.

The number is also listed on the screen on power up during the first few lines of data.

Before you power up, take a note of the baud rate on the SSC card. I think it is best to use on TTY 0, 9600 BAUD but also move across the baud rate dip switch above the one that you are using such as the 4800 BAUD rate one.
You can also move across the very top baud rate dip switch as this is useful to see extra boot up tests being performed.

From TTY 0. power up the system. When you get to the pdt command entry, use the dongle site ID as the password. This should get you into pdt.
From there, you can reset the PDT password by using the command passwd.

If you still have a PCMCIA with software, you can reset the passwords using the tool menu

There was a pcmcia cad with the SSC card, but that method wouldn't have worked on a release 03.00 system. The problem was eventually sorted using part of the method that I had mentioned although I had got it slightly wrong in the sequence.
