How could I find this information:

What's the minimum length of password?
Does it have to be Alpha numeric?
How many unsuccessful attempts before accoutn is locked
Can you re-use passwords?

Thanks!

Login’s Password

Passwords must be 4 to 11 characters in length and contain at least 1 alphabetic and 1 numeric character. Passwords do not display as you type. Valid entries: A to Z, a to z,
0 to 9, and ! & * ? ; ’ ^( ) , . : -

afaik you can not set a maximum attempts before locking the account, but you can monitor false attempts in the security violations. Also you can set an expiration timer for x days.

I'm not sure about this but I think you cannot re-use old passwords for the same account.

Thanks huffer. Did some testing as well.

Here are my results for an R12 / CM1

Password Parameters:
Minimal Length = 7 - 11
Alpha-Numeric = Yes it needs to be alpha-numeric
Same as User ID = Yes as long as it meets the 7/11 and alpha-numeric rules. If it doesn't then no
Locked after attempts = Yes Service is disabled after 4 unsuccessful simultaneous attempts
Can you reuse passwords = No

Thanks to you too, for filling out my "blank spots"...

No problem brother!!

For CMS r12:
Password Parameters:

Minimal Length = 6

Alpha-Numeric = Yes it needs at least 2 alpha and 1 numeric

Same as User ID = No, can't be circular shift of logonid

Locked after attempts = No (at least not after my test 8 attempts)

Can you reuse passwords = Yes can force from root level but not sure if forced reset from to the user on the GUI side will let end user re-use a password.

you can reuse passwords but not consecutively

If for example you set your password to "password1"
you would have to change it a couple of times before you can reuse "password1"
