hello all,
i have 4 win2000 machines connected tcp/ip peer-peer.
i want any machine to have full access to any other machine.
i all the full access permissions i can find enabled.
each machine has a desktop shortcut to the 3 other machines.
my question is:
when i access another machine i need to put in the user name and password of that machine to access the drives. after i do this once i don't need user names and passwords, but if i reboot my machine, i need to supply them again. can i turn this off so i have full access, w/o log-ins
thanks,
bill

One solution is to add your desired user IDs to all of the machines, so that resources can be shared across your network without the need to enter a username and password.

Example:
If you are running as Administrator on all machines, then on each machine you would make 3 user adds for the other machines using the machine name as the Domain in the DomainName\UserName combination.

Or...

Depending on how you share files, another solution would be to share the C or D drive, or wherever your data is, then map the drive from the remote computer. When you map the drive, the connection is persistent, so when a reboot occurs, the machines will automatically reconnect as long as you log on as the same user.
