Is it possible to password protect a webpage using dreamweaver, for eg can I insert a text field and have all the visitors being given the same password and inputing it to get into that section. I'm not planning on giving different passwords as it doesn't need to be that secure.
Please help, I don't know where to start.

I'm not aware of a method through dreamweaver itself. I think it needs to go through a script. If you are on a unix server, you can use the .htaccess method. If on windows, you can write (or download free) a simple asp script to do the task.

Let me know if you need more help than this.

You don't need to use ASP to do a password. There are plenty of java applets, cgi/perl scripts, that will do passwords. Do a search and you'll find more than you need. You just need to make sure your web host allows password protected pages. Many do not because of the whole warez, porn, mp3z, scene. Chandler

thanks, I'm going to try all the above.
