We had a guy leave our corporation and left a password protect on his lotus spreadsheets. What is a backdoor to get to them and remove them.

Lotus 123 ("fortunately" for you - unfortunately for those of us who have been wanting Lotus Corp to plug this loophole) has a longstanding BUG which effectively "opens the backdoor" to practically all 123 protected spreadsheets. This is accomplished by using the FILE COMBINE COMMAND. First, create a NEW file and create ample sheets (try 50) - to accommodate the sheets which you will then FILE COMBINE from the protected file. I know your reply was written 3 years ago! However, we have a similar problem now using Lotus Smart Suite 9.6 and using "file combine" doesn't seem to work so perhaps they fixed the "bug" you mentioned. However, is there any other way to get the password protected file back???
