Hello all,

I'm having some problems logging into a Definity Prologix system I've got here. Have tried the default passwords that I know of, and cannot get in, the previous owner has tried all the passwords they knew of in circulation for that type of system when they had it. Does anyone know what some other passwords I could try or, or know of any backdoors into the system?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Dan

If you tried all de defaults, I'm afraid you have to call Avaya and ask them to reset the pwd's.

i only know:

cust custpw
dadmin dadmin1
craft crftpw or crftpw1

With best regards
Callmaster

Thanks, The craft password got me in, apparently the password I thought was default for that was incorrect. Once I'm in the system with this password, it doesn't appear I have control of everything on the system. Is there anything I need to do to be able to change logins that are currently on there?

Craft level should give you control of most everything you need.
youo might do a list login to see what other logins are setup. You can then to change login xxx and reset passwords.

That's what I thought, but for some reason it tells me login isn't a valid argument for the list command. It does the same with change login. Also, add is not an option on the list i have. Any ideas?

Thanks again,
Dan

I guess craft level doesn't allow login changes.
Normally local logins are controled through the cust login
but if you can't get into that one and it won't work through craft the other would be the inads login. SInce the default worked for the craft you might try the same with inads and see if you can get in.

Yeah, I was able to get in with login inads, password indspw. Still not able to modify the logins or anything like that with this. Any other ideas, or am I stuck?

Do a "display permissions inads" and see if the option to change permissions is anabled.

You can use this command for all logins. Plan your work............Work your plan

Ok, that shows me that it's not. Of the logins I know, dadmin is the only one with permission to change permissions. unfortunately I don't know the password for this account, the only one I've tried so far is dadmin1 which was recommended by callmaster, and a few variations of that.

Use the inads login to change the password for dadmin. If you have R10 or later, this will not work. The only way to enable dadmin on R10 and later is through RFA.

I don't know if I can change the password for dadmin, the only otion I have to change is system-parameters maintenence. Unless there's some other way to change the password.

Just an FYI. Craft cannot change customers passwords as a protection to Avaya. They would not want the customer to blame them for adding or changing passwords. Password changes can only be done (by Avaya) by the INADS group in Denver.
