I have a query that uses on database to update another. The one that is updated is password protected. The problem comes when the query runs on the first database it prompts for a password. Since the whole idea was to automate the updating of the second database this will not work as designed.

Is there a way to pass a password from one Access update query to another Access database automatically?

Thanks for your help!

Yes..

Go to the passthru query that requires the password. Open in design view. Then open the queires properties. May have to right-click in the blue header bar of the query.

Then in the ODBC Connect string field enter password, something like:

ODBC;DSN=Oracle;UID=USRID;DBQ=TR_PFG;ASY=OFF;PWD=yourpassword

Hope this helps!

Since it's from one Access database to another Access database the connection string does not work. Thanks for the reply!
