One of my subordinates has changed the password on a Pix 515E and saved the cofiguration. He entered "enable mynewpassword encrypt" or "enable password mynewpassword encrypt" he cannot remember which. We are locked out of the Pix and I need to get access to make config changes urgently. I think he has made the Pix think "mynewpassword" is a hash of the password not the password. Is there anyway of unencrypting the password without logging in (I think I know the answer to this) or will I have to hack the Pix (by hack I mean TFTP and reset the password).

Thanks for any advice...

Thanks for the reply. I did have that feeling but I thought I would ask anyway. I went in and reset then trained the person concerned what to do in the future.

Added fun to my daily routine though.

Thanks agian.
