password appears on boot up 1

when i cold boot this machine once the script just passes the detecting ide section the machine askes for a password. I need to stop this any suggestions.

Sounds like a bios password - so you need to access the bios settings and turn off the password (machine usually tells you which key to use to access bios settings - Del and F2 are probably most common).
