I have just taken over an IPoffice 406 v2, the previous encumbent has been made redundant.I am trying to access the system via the dte port so that I may reset the passwords with reference to a previous thread. This may sound naive to you experienced users but do I remove the license dongle or do I gain access via the dongle. I have also tried access via LAN port 1 to no avail,I am assuming the IP Address to be 192.168.42.1.I have cofigured my laptop with fixed IP addr 192.168.42.203 could you confirm subnet mask please.
Thanks Barry

Also if you have access to the PC he used to Manage the system with you can open Manager on that pc and then open the offline copy of the config and see the IP adress that way :)

Thanks AMriddle01 good idea but his pc has been wiped unfortunately. I should be able to see ip address when I access via hyperlink I believe.

You will but it will not be in plain format, it shows in Hex if I remeber correctly, so it's like this Lan1 =0a2f1105
the first two (oa) is the highest part of the network etc :)

You should see the IP address in HEX, so you need to convert it per 2 digits.

Thanks all will be giving this a go on Monday, will let you know how I get on.

When you DTE in to the system there is no need to reboot to see the IP address (in hex)

Type:

AT
at-debug
system

This will show it too including type of system and the software version.

I never remove the dongle, it always worked for me with the dongle still on it.

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

i usually just plug straight into the lan port with dhcp enabled on my laptop, run wireshark, after about 3 seconds you will see messages exchanged with the phone system and get the ip. much easier than dte and converting hex.

possibly. might be default password once he has the IP. :)

You wouldn't believe how many existing systems i've been to to look at taking over and been able to log straight in. terrible really.
