Hi,

We have a problem....

we have a 7400 sw ver PCR 5.2.2 and its connected to a meridian option 81 via some mcdn links, Dual PRI in the Meridian and 4pE1Mvpe in the passport

the mcdn ccts that are in one slot (5) work fine and we are able to make calls from the meridian via the passport to the remote site. the card in slot 4 of the passport rejects the call with the following Dchannel message:

DCH 23 OMSG SETUP REF 0000001E CH 11 30 TOD 20:07:41
FEAT :NCID
PROGRESS: ORIG ADDR IS NOT ISDN
CALLING #:6405 NUM PLAN: PRIVATE
CALLED #:5206008 NUM PLAN: PRIVATE
DCH 23 IMSG REL COMP REF 0000001E CH 11 30 TOD 20:07:41
CAUSE :UNASSIGNED NUMBER

Now I know that all teh channels from the meridian work as we've tested them to card 5. I know that the number plan in the passport works, and the wierd thing is that calls can be received via card 4 but not made.

The card has been swapped out and the same fault occurs.

Anuone got any clues?

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

a assume the 7 digit number is correct 5206088, i would do more testing before i put it on a slot problem. have you rolled cards and numbers to see if the problem follows the card or the number? is channel 11 30 used for other calls and is it programed (ncos-tgar-idc) at working channels. if so post a slot on slot 4 and one on five. what i read is your can't call across the pri to card 5 but you can call card 5 from 4. is this correct. i've seen your post and your usually right on the mark.

yes, we moved the m1 ccts that were in 4 onto 6 and all worked well.

We replaced 4 with a new card and also with the card from 6 and we still got the same problem. (checking all cables and terminations as well)

mind you when we moved the card bck from 4 to 6 we then had the same error...... Am completly stumped with this.

The number is valid.

I can't see how if the cards and channels are all in the same group ie we can recieve inbound, that the call will fail.

the d channel says unassigned number, you may have corruption in your data base which would mean level 3 tech support or better to clean it up. i would do a cold restart before i paid for that unless you have that service paid for in your contract.

Cheers John,

We are going to do a cold reboot tonight at the request of nortel...... so we'll see what happens.
