Passport: More then one system IP address?

I have a passport that is connected to more then one network but its only tracking the ARP table for the network that its system IP address is on...

My question is.. is there anyway I can tell it that there is this other network attached to it? or Can I configure more then one system IP address?

Passports do not support additional IP ranges on a VLAN or multiple port based VLANs on one port without tagging. Multi-netting in Nortel lingo, IP secondary address in Cisco lingo. (BayRS did support multi-netting).

I assume the 2 network IP ranges are overlaid on the same backbone. What do you need to do with the 2 ranges?

well we were stuck in a legacy system.. and needed more addresses so they tagged on a gigantic new one that is subnetted.

We arent very complex just simple hub and spoke off of the passport 1612... the networks are rooted off of a cisco 2600 that has both networks configured, one on each of its fastethernet ports. Its a whole nother story.. but yes both networks are on the same backbone, no vlans..yet.

we are having some network slowdowns on our network accessing our novell box. I dont think the arp table is the root cause of the problem but I think it could effect some packet.. somewhere..
