Passport 8600 Link Oscillation

Has anyone seen this in their network? Passport 8600, code, 3.2.2.0. Log file shows, Link Oscillation, then the port disables itself. If I re-enable it, connectivity resumes. Thanks for your help.
 
I believe that the newer 8600 code has the ability to disable a port if it senses that port having too many problems. Do a "show log file tail" to see if your recording a lot of up/downs on the port in question. Also, a "show port error main" and "show port error ext" can help you detect a bad NIC.
 
The feature called "link flap detection" can disable any port of Passport 8600 when it detects problems in ethernet carrier link. You can disable this feature by Java Device Manager or by CLI and after that solve the cable or nic problem.
