Passing values to selection screen

How can I fill a field on my selection screen by using values entered in other fields on my selection screen at the same time. The user must be able to see the final value determined from the other fields into this final field before they hit execute on that screen. This is a Screen Painter built screen.

I think you should be more clear about how you set up this screen. A proper selection screen cannot be built using the Screen Painter. If you used the screen painter then this is a Dynpro screen, and you can use the PAI module of that screen in which to do the calculations and update the fields on the screen. If this is how it is done then I can give a small example of how to do this. If it is an actual selection screen, created from the "SELECTION-SCREEN" event block in the code itself then you can use the "AT SELECTION-SCREEN" event block to manipulate the fields on the selection screen itself.
