Passing tones to NuPoint

We just installed 3300 controller at three sites with NuPoint in one location. Can call all sites from other sites, but can not pass tones when in voice mail. We believe it is related to Cisco Catalyst 4510 which is core in LAN at central site. Any suggestions?

No. None are being passed. They keytones are long and nothing happens.

when they are on the same subnet, yes, the tones get passed....also when a call leaves to another site, the tones get passed, but not coming in, and not locally between different subnets

Does this mean the the Voicemail is not in the same subnet as the phones even in the co-located site?

It sounds like a 1 way audio issue.

Have you gotten far enough to determine if messages can be recorded?
Probably not if you can't login, duh! ;-0

Look for a IP gateway issue. Place a phone in the same subnet as the VM and test your audio. Dial digits while the call is in progress and see if they can be heard.

we tried that.....between Wichita and Denton - it works fine going out to Denton, but when Denton comes back in to Wichita, no go...
also, when the phone is on a different subnet locally....no go
we think the problem is with our 4510 - we just can't figure out where or what.

Almost always a gateway issue.

Have you tried putting PC's Peer to peer between the subnets?

Can you leave a voice mail messages on the NP for someone, from accross the network?

Do you have softkeys appearing on your 4150?

We have had a similar issue on some of our sites. Tones are not passed to voicemail and messages are not recorded. The resolution was to add the networks on the Nupoint MSL in the same way you would for Teleworker.
