Hi,

I am using Crystal 8.5.

I have a main report and in its footer a subreport which is a summary of the main report.
The reports are almost the same, just different areas are supressed.
They are also using the smae parameters and therefore I want the subreport to use the main report parameters.
I named the parameters the same but am still asked to enter parameters both to the main report and to the subreport.
Obviously I want the parameters entered only to the main report only and have them passed automaitically to the subreport.

Can you please let me know how it is done (if at all)?

Thanks

Naomi

Link the parameters to each other. Go to edit->subreport links->move the main report parameter to the right and in the bottom left, use the dropdown to select {?yoursubparameter}, NOT the default {?pm-?yoursubparameter}. Repeat for each parameter.

Hi,

In the subreport links box, in the dropdown at the botton left, I ONLY get the default {?pm-?parametername}.
I don't have any other selection options and cannot edit the text.

Wold you know how to overcome this

Thanks

Naomi

This probably means that your parameters are of different datatypes. If you are using a date parameter, make sure you have the same datatype set up both in the main and subreport.
