Hi!
I'm new in Crystal Technologies and I create now a lot of reports(Crystal 9 and Oracle)with parameters.
The question is:
I created the parameter as string value. When I passed it into formula(Ex:{ENTITY.CHAR1} =?param1})
)the formula became Boolean type. What is going on and how I can change it?
Thanks in advance.I'll appreciate any help.
Lana.

I also am relatively new to CR/CE, so keep that in mind. Your formula uses an equal sign (=) which is a comparison. Perhaps it would work if you used an assignment :)=).

Hi,
How are you using the {ENTITY.CHAR1} =?param1 ?
Parameters and formulas are separate beasts, so the parameter did not change from a string, but the formula you created with that statement using the parameter can only have 2 results: either TRUE or FALSE - hence, a boolean..
