Could anyone please tell how we can implement the following:

1) Caller dials 800# to reach VRU1. This VRU1 gets the 5-digit ID from the caller.
2) Then transfer the call to VRU2 (different location) along with the 5-digit ID as DTMF.

We have Definity 3Gr and AT&T ISDN PRI.

Thanks in advance,

I would forget the first VRU and forward the number to a VDN in the second switch. Use collect digits and converse steps in the vector to pass the DTMF. Plan your work............Work your plan

How do we pass the number to a VDN in the second switch? We are using Conversant VRU.

Should the VRU1 include the number in the transfer string?
ex.
1234599990 where 12345 is VDN and 99990 is number to pass.

Could you please explain what "forget the first VRU" mean in ur reply.

Thanks,

Perhaps it's not possible but why use the first VRU as receiver of the information and then pass it through to the second one.

I'd say: route the call directly in the second one and play with it there.

If you collected 5 digits after ann xxxx( in the vector) you must converse on skill xx so the digits will be repeated when the VRU answers the call.

Look at the avaya site and see if you can find documantation on Call Center and VRU software.

Good luck.

in order to do converse on skill xx, you need to have the skill xx defined and have members of the skill group (i.e. a conversant IVR)

what if you want to send dtmf to an ivr at another location that is not physically tied to your first switch - you'll be using the public network to make the call?

I can tell you what we sorta do... This might help.

When our callers call our VRU, they enter their employee ID. After they prompt where they need to go, we transfer the call either within the building or outside of the building. We do an ASAI transfer. This stuffs the UUI field with data. At the receving switch, it collects the UUI information. We have a "screen pop" server that gets the info from the PBX. Then when the agent answers the call, the screen-pop server send a request to our ticketing system with the employee ID information and it pops up on the screen.

Of course you need PRI (which you already have) all the way through the call. Basically, you have to have your conversant do an ASAI transfer and stuff the UUI field. I do not know how this is done since we have a conversant programmer. I believe when we do the ASAI transfer, it 1st has to go through our MAP-D board, since that is what passed DNIS and ANI to our conversant when the call 1st comes in..

I hope this helps.

Using that same CONVERSE ON thing.... Is it possible to create a VDN that allows you to enter an extension number and dorp a message into someone's VM? We use audix and the guest password is 0. We wanted something similar to Nortel's Express Messaging feature, where you just call a number and the VM System asks for the mailbox you want to leave a mesasge for...

If the vector could collect 4 digits, then coverse on the audix huntgroup, then pass on those digits+#+0#, then I think it would work. Whats happening is, the system isn't passing the digits, only the #.

Thoughts???
