Heh,

Last chance to get it and I did it. I was worried cause I did the Boson tests for this exam and I just could not get a good score with those tests. Been studying on it untill 5.30am and slept 3 hours. It looks like the actual exam is easier than teh Boson tests.

I noticed that there were some questions on devices that were not covered in the Readers I got when I did the course a while back. Anyone else noticed that when they recently did the OLD exam?

Ok now it's time to start learning for the BCRAN exam end of the month. Anyone any insight to if this is easier or harder than the BCMSN?

InDenial,
Don't be in denial, Congrats on passing switching.
I took the 605 on the 29th of Sept. and got a 931. Can I say ISDN and Frame Relay!!!! All the other was pretty much a gimme, but since I do not work in a ISDN or Frame Relay environment I needed to focus on those areas, and guess waht Cisco had on the test???? I felt that the Cisco Press book by Paquet was very good, Boson was not on target with its stuff - but I did have an old version! Skip the chapter on the 700 router, I would cut it out of my book if I could! The NAT, AAA, CHAP/PAP and PPP were pretty basic, but that is the "world I live in" Some basic X.25 stuff but again the Paquet book more than covers this. 1 very easy sim and several fill in the blank for the command type questions. A 3 or 4 of the Drop and Drags were you fill in the parts to complete a command. But again ISDN Bri, ISDN Pri, ISDN everything...Dialer Maps, Dialer Profiles, Dialer pools, dialer this and Dialer that!!!! The test will challenge you on all things ISDN. And as with switching, know where to put what Cisco device based on needs, types of interfaces and COST!!!!

All in all the exam was not as hard as I thought it was going to be.

I got CIT/Support/640-606 on the 20th of Oct. That will complete my CCNP requirements.

Best of luck on BCRAN,

GL gentelmen!

audiotherapy and SF18C,

The 640-604 exam was the first exam for CCNP I took. Problem is though that my ccna expires 31th of october. Because of that I can not take the old bcran test. I had the course for bcran about 3 weeks ago and I am going for the new exam end of the month.

Although I am working in a Multilayered switched environment 60 % of what was in the books about switching is not used where I work.

I guess they changed the bcran course a lot. I have to do the 642 test and there is some broadband, vpn, ipsec and stuff in it. Still a lot of ISDN adn frame though. Wich won't be a problem. But I am kinda afraid of the give the command to do this questions. How on arth can you remember all teh commands that are used if you have no real life experience?.. Maybe that's the idea behind the tests though.

Good luck with your CIT and BCRAN exams.

Here's something not all know, if your currently enrolled in the Cisco Network Academy and join the Alumni page you can get a promotional waiver to take any of the old CCNA and CCNP test until March 31, 2004. If your in the Academy, ask your instructor and check out the Academy web site.

I've passed BSCI and BCRAN and thank god for the waiver because in a month I take the Switching.
