Thanks. I was aware of Metroline, but I don't believe they repair. Also, they don't have a particular Digital to Analog Converter card that I'm looking for (part # 407845692). Anyone know of another site?
i think it depends on the maintenance contract.
you should definitely find out before hand as nothing sucks more than paying maintenance AND support charges.
There are two places I like to use. The first is 1Nation Technologies in Tampa Bay, Florida. When talking with them directly I get very good prices on telephones and circuit packs. I believe they also do repair work. Their warrently on equipment is 5 years. I deal with MJ.
The other place is TRCA in Denton Texas. Ask for Scott.
Many Avaya Maintenance agreements are based on the number of ports on the system you get when you add up all the available ports on all the trunk and station circuit packs. Adding packs to your system without ammending your maintenance contract can affect your agreement in a couple of ways. First, the added packs are not covered. Second, if one of your covered packs is damaged and that damage can be traced back to the added packs, the covered packs are no longer covered.

I have bought port carriers from the secondary market, installed them ourselfs and then had Avaya come in and certify them. This saved a ton of money and could still add the carrier and circuit packs to our maintenance assist program.
That is the best way to do it Mikey. Just be sure to have Avaya come in to certify the equipment and ammend the maintenance agreement. Before I went to work for a Business Partner, I worked for a large company that had PBX's and spare circuit packs all over the country. Many times I'd have another location ship me a circuit pack and have Avaya (then Lucent) come in and certify the equipment and add it to our maintenance agreement. It's all good as long as Avaya gets their piece of the pie.
