HI! my voicemail is currently set to do the following: incoming call, message comes on telling caller we are not here and leave a message, then automessagecomes on transferring to receptionist, then receptionist message comes on asking to leave a message, what i would like is the caller to get one message and then be able to just leave a message, PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Either use Line Ownership, #206-7-NN-3 in system programming, and option 6 in the VS mail to assign the lines as "owned" by Ext. 10,

or

Use #208-XX-10 (and #206-7-XX-2) for each line to have them "covered" by Ext. 10.

2nd option lets you put 10 in DND and have them answered immediatly.

thank you tommy, i am not yet successful and would appreciate further help. i am in the programming menu, have assigned all lines to mailbox 10, but still have same situation, how do i get rid of the first outgoing message, and auto operator that comes on before the receptionist's message comes on? only want one message, thanks!:)

Hi amcbaby,
Do any of your extensions have voicemail or is there only you?

Without knowing more about what your system looks like we are in the dark (unless you are continuing another thread I haven't seen yet).

If you have created a mailbox for the extension and assign line ownership to it, the personal greeting should come on right away - just like an answering machine. If the caller presses "0" the call will transfer to ext 10. You can redirect the 0 / timeout on VS5 and up.

i have vs5, and have mailboxes on each extension, however, only the receptionist was set up. accidentally, the bookkeeper did something(?) and now her voice comes up, then the auto which tranfers to the receptionist, then the receptionist message comes up. i have tried to assign all of the lines to extension 10, but still to no avail. when i am in the programming section, i hit #206-7...

Hi amcbaby,
Ahhh, so with #206 - 7 you have assigned the lines to hunt group 7 for coverage. That's correct. Now in the voicemail, under attendants (3), assign each line for line ownership. It will ask you what extension you want. You must set up the target mailboxes before they will become active. That means you need to initialize them as well with greeting and password change.
