I am supposed to install an IP Office soon that will have Partner phones and 1400 series phones. Does anyone have program gathering sheets or templates and does anyone have experience using the Manager interface to program? Is it any good?

We haven't installed any IPO's using the Partner version, but I understand you can program from the sets. If you're already familiar with programming a Partner system, that may be the way to go.

I believe i did read that. I just want something for the presales info gathering to make sure the sales guy doesn't offer features not available for the Partner version of IPO. Not sure what can and cannot be done. I was told today about a pdf that may have that info, just have not looked at it yet. (Partner R8 System Planner.pdf)

The 1400 phones do System Programming differently from a Partner 18-D - you'll be moving through menus, scrolling down, selecting, changing, back, etc. Not the old familiar Feature 00, Left intercom twice, #504, etc.

The GUI is not bad, just a lot of mousing and clicking.

Be sure to do the 6.0(14) maintenance release upgrade

Fill out a regular Partner planner to get the basic info. Remember that the extension numbers are fixed, so a combo card will have Ext. 10 - 15 as digital sets, then 16 & 17 as Analog sets (if it is in the first bay).

Think about the layout of the buttons, to get the most effective use of them. Redial is a fixed button on the set, so you don't need a programmable one for that. You may want a Voicemail collect button on one of them in addition to the Visual Voicemail button on the phone.

Did the 6.0.14 maintenance release include anything for the Partner version? It's not mentioned in the tech bulletin. There are definetly some things that need fixing on the Partner version. We have installed 2 of them already with few issues other than having some problems with the combo cards.

It makes the buttons on the DSS work, but the features that are really needed are slated for the 6.1 release.
