Partner Unified Messaging

Will the Partner Unified MEssaging work with an SMTP server? The literature talks about it, but the only real success on the forums seems to be when running it with MS Eschange 2000 or 2003.
Has ANYONE really had any success with it without Exchange?

Yes I have it working and it is OK but it will not turn off the message lights. If you can live with that then it is good.

I have Partner Messaging 7.0, exchange 2003. Voicemail does not delete after deleting from outlook. Any one have any ideas?

I've since spent WAY too much time getting mine to work, but to answer the question: there is a setting in the administration software when setting up the servers, that allows you to specify whether it is an SMTP or Exchange server. Is yours set up there as an exchange server?
