We have the system set up to use Direct Extension Dial, I think?

When a call comes in, the system answers and plays a message that lists the extensions that a caller can dial.

I need to change this message. It has had the same message since it was originally programed way back when.

First problem: When following the instructions to change this message, At extension 10, [intercom] [8] [9] [2], the phone makes a high low tone beeping when the 2 is entered.

The instructions say that a button needs to be programed in order to turn off Direct Extension Dial, and Automatic System Answer. No button is programed.

Second Problem: When you try to program this button to turn off DXD and or a button for ASA
[feature] [0] [0] [sys prog] [sys prog] [#] [1] [1] [3]

It beeps when you get to [3] and will not let you go further, like it doesn't recognize #113

The rack Unit we have from left to right is
206ECV Module R4.1
Partner Mail VS R4.1
Avaya Partner ACS 308 Proc R1.0

I think the 308 Proc. R1.0 is the problem, in 2006, a n oversized load took out some overhead whires which screwed up the incoming line 1. The only 308 Proc. they had was the R1.0 which is what they replaced it with.

According to the book, the DXD and ASA are only available on R2.0 or greater, BUT, the thing is still doing the DXD, we just can't change the message

Anyone know how to change this damned message, I'm tired of pulling my hair out, damned puters.

Thanx a million in advance

Unless you have a dxd/asa card in the one of the slots in the ACS the message is in the VS mail, your VS4.1, enter the system admin of the voice mail and change the auto attendant prompt
