Good morning all,
I am trying to program some buttons on partner 18D sets on a Partner 509 r8 processor card via the pc Administration, however my changes aren't taking. Can anyone assist? I add an "last number dialed" button and then do the "Send system information to internal memory" since I don't have a flash card installed. Then the software asks me to do "restore system translations from internal memory" and I do so, however mmy changes are not present. I also have to recreate the admin password everytime so that I can log on via PC administration. It does have new batteries and the card is brand new. Maybe I'm not doing something right...all help is appreciated. Thanks.

Did you start by backing up to the internal memory, and downloading that configuration?

Then make your changes, save as a new file, upload that new file to the internal memory, and finally doing the restore from internal memory.

TouchToneTommy,
Can you explain a little bit better..sorry. Here's what I did. I created a system admin password so I could connect. Then I made my changes and saved the config to my desktop on my laptop. Next, I "send system info to internal memory". Finally I "restore system translations from internal memory". I rebooted the processor card and my changes weren't present and my sys password was blanked out.

Well, then you sent a blank configuration with your changes into the system.

Create your admin password.

Connect, and then under Administration, select Retrieve System Information. Then you back up the translations to the internal memory, and download the configuration to your PC.

Now you have a copy of the current programming on your PC. Make your changes, and save it as a file with a different name from what you just downloaded. Under Administration you send that new file back to the internal memory, and restore the system from that.

(Or, you could go over to the phone, press Feature 00, press the button, press Feature 05, Feature 00, but that wasn't the original question!)

thank you so much for clearing that up for me. I'm still not 100% clear, however I think I can look through the fog...thanks again for the help!!!!

TouchToneTommy,
I did exactly what you said and it WORKED!!! I had my fingers crossed and reread what you said and it suddenly clicked in my head. Thanks again for your expertise.....now to look for conferencing options is next on the agenda! Sincerely, I appreciate your response
