Hello,

I am trying to set up a basic voicemail/auto-attendant scenario. I have assigned all the extensions to the Auto A and covered all steps in the manual. However, when someone calls from an outside service, the AA never picks up. It just rings and rings...any suggestions?

It sounds like your Hunt Group 7 has the wrong extensions listed.

What do you mean?

Just some background that might help:
Our extensions have been in place for a while under an older release. We just got 7 and I am trying to configure it. I have been assigning the ones we have been using and have physical phones connected to it.

thx

I got it to pick up and send to x10. But I now have to figure out why I cant login to system admin at intercom + 777

If you replaced the Processor to a new R7, the ext's in hunt group 7 will be goofed up. please post what boards and in which order your system has.

BTW, for future reference to anyone else.

I hadnt assigned all the extensions at

Feature 00
System program, system program
#206
1- Assign to ALL lines

Partner ACS 012E module
Lucent Partner 206E R4/1
Partner ACS 509 Processor
Partner ACS Messaging RS 232 (which has the port card in slot 1)

The info on the voicemail system is invalid.

It could be an Avaya Partner Messaging R1, 6 or 7....a Partner Mail VS R1 through R5 or a Partner Voice Messaging.

Please identify what it is as well as the number of ports the voicemail licensing card says it supports (2, 4 or 6)

This problem is also being addressed over at Sundance in the Lucent/Avaya forum and there is information over there that might help get this resolved.

There was mention of an ASA/DXD card in the system and that may or may not have something to do with this problem. [ponder].

Has that issue been resolved?

Your first post: I have an R7 and the card supports 2 ports

The second post: It does say no ASA/DXD card, but when I called technical support he said this is not a problem (what he could tell me before he would charge $106 every 1/2 an hour!)

I will check out that board and see if it sheds any light, thx

Having the system give you that "No ASA/DXD" message would indicate that it is looking for that card.

I'm starting to wonder if the best recourse at this point would be to default the Partner ACS processor and start from scratch. [ponder]

The no ASA/DXD error messagae means that some tried to record the message for the ASA or DXD by dialing intercom 891 or 892. A common mistake when someone sets up a voice mail system using the ACS manual.

Look in the manual under troubleshooting it will tell you how to clear the error.basically assign the button on extension 10(#111 or #112), turn the feature on then turn it off, then unassign the button (#111 or #112).
