By using Asa/Dxd card i can put on hold but cant press 1 transfer to voicemail. is there anyway that i can setup/combine these function.

my setup
4 lines

voice pc card
auto attendant
press 1 to leave voice mail 1
return to extension 1

Asa/Dxd card
put all call on hold

hi, i have voice pc card (similiar to messaging module), i also have messaging module. right now if im using voice pc card/ or messaging module, i can setup voicemail and auto attendant. if im using asa/dxd card, i can put line on hold. i just want to know to combine both function: incoming call "press 1 to leave message, otherwise hold".

No. You don't have any combination of parts that would allow what you're asking for.

ASA will answer after X number of rings, play a short message, and place the caller on hold. It does not accept any input from the caller.

DXD is a small no-frills automated attendant. It answers after X number of rings, plays a short message, waits for Touch Tone input from the caller, and transfers to the extension number selected by the caller. If no selection is made, the call transfers to Ext. 10

Partner Voice Messaging PC Card can answer with an auto attendant. The caller inputs an extension number or selector code that transfers to an extension number, dialing nothing at all transfers to Ext. 10. It can also answer with a mailbox, which takes a message, however you can zero out of the mailbox and transfer to Ext. 10

Partner Messaging module can do the same as Partner Voice Messaging, except you can change the timeout destination for the Automated Attendant and you can change the zero out destination for a mailbox. You could for instance have the automated attendant answer, play a message, and zero/timeout transfer to a mailbox to leave a message. Selector Code 1 could transfer to Ext. 71, which is Calling Group 1, which would make all members of Calling Group 1 ring simultaneously until answered. The caller would hear ring-back, although you can change that in system programming to hold music, but the phones in the office are still going to be ringing until answered.

any better system that can do that function? avaya ip500?

hi i have question about the Ext id
i know speed dial is 80 - 99
what is calling group extension?
pickup group extension?
pc card voice mailbox extension? (i know hungting group 7 "78-79" is using for intercom 777 control, what is the actual mailbox extension number - 9991-9994 (this is for messaging module))
auto attendant extension?

4 Calling Groups, x71 ~ x74

8 Hunt Groups, x771 ~ x778 (HG7 reserved for Voicemail, HG8 reserved for Fax)

The extension numbers for the Voicemail Ports depends on the Voicemail unit being used. Partner Voice Messaging is always 78 and 79. Partner Mail VS and Partner Messaging depends on which slot it is installed in, what other cards are in the system and their arrangement, and how many ports are activated on the Voicemail module. Partner Mail is external, uses line cords to interface, and can be any combination of extensions, except it is recommended NOT to use the first and second extension ports on a card because of the Power Failure Transfer.

9991 ~ 9994 are the General Mailbox "extension" numbers associated with automated attendants 1 ~ 4 found on Partner Mail and Partner Messaging

Partner Mail and Partner Messaging, it is possible to associate any extension number with an automated attendant, So a call directed to an extension that covers to voicemail can be answered by an automated attendant instead of a mailbox.

HERE is a Partner ACS Installation, Programming, and Use manual.

hi, i still have questions about the messaging module (i read the manual but cant figure out)
on the auto attendant 1, i setup 1 for selector code transfer to ext.13, 2 for sub menu 1
on the sub menu 1, i setup 1 for direct transfer so that i can direct call ext. 10-18 but it keep saying "Your call cannot be transferred" (i try on all ext 10 - 18 but same thing)????

also on the auto attendant 1, selector code 1 transfer to ext.13, i want to setup keep ringing but it keep return to auto attendant 1, if i setup voicemail ( it go to voicemail)?? how can i set up so it keep ringing on ext.13?? thanks

Partner Messaging has security options in place by default. You can NOT transfer to an extension that does not either have a mailbox created for it or has transfer only permissions enabled for it. You can change the security setting, or you can go to Extensions, enter the extension number, and instead of pressing 1 to create a mailbox press 2 to assign Transfer Only permissions.

Once a call has been transferred to an extension, it is going to ring for a period of time. If you have Auto VMS Coverage turned on for the extension, the call will cover back to the Voicemail Hunt Group (777) and be answered by the extension's mailbox.

If you don't enable Auto VMS Coverage, a transferred call will ring until the Transfer Return Timer has expired, and then return to the extension that initiated the transfer. If that is a VM port, VM will figure out that there is a mailbox matching the extension number that the call is returning from and connect the call to the mailbox. If there is NOT a matching mailbox, Messaging will transfer to the Call Answer Service Operator (typicallyset to x10)

If you set Auto VMS Cover (#310-XX) to Not Assigned, transferred calls will not cover to the mailbox

If you set Transfer Return Rings (#103) to 0, unanswered transferred calls will NOT return the the transferrer.

If you set Ring on Transfer (#119) to Not Active, callers will hear Music on Hold while the transferred call is ringing

hi thanks for all the answer, last question: the messaging module when i call i, system ring 1 then auto attendant 1 turn on, i try to set number of ring but nothing happen, i think the messaging module control that, how can i set incoming call all phone ring 5 times then auto attendant, thanks for all reply

Configure lines to be answered by the Automated Attendant
#206-7-{Line Number}-1

Set number of rings before Automated Attendant answers
#506-{1=Day/2=Night}-{Line Number}-{Number of Rings}

well the #206 and #506 dont work with the messaging module r1, when i install the messaging module, it ring 1 time then auto attendant come up, i change everything but still doesnt work

Make sure the lines are set to no ring on the VM port extensions.

hi how can i set to no ring on the VM port extensions?

I suspect you don't have the ports of the messaging module r1 in Hunt Group 7.

Please list the modules that you have in the carrier, left to right. How many ports are you licensed for on the messaging module?

BTW, if you have properly assigned the VM ports to Hunt Group 7, there is no need to changing the ring mode for them, although it would APPEAR that they are set to Immediate Ring, by virtue of being assigned to HG7 several parameters are magically changed but not reflected in programming. Ringing, Auto Line Select, and Intercom Dial Tone are among these parameters.

Interesting experiment some time is assign a telephone extension to HG7 and observe what it does!

well my setup is really simple: a prtner acs 509 processor 18 port and a messaging module r1 (19,20)
i reset processor to default (only assign to hunting group 7 ext 19 and 20)
i have 4 lines so i assign aa 1 to line 1, aa2 to line 2 and so on (doesnt test this part)

i just want setup like this: line 1 call, aa1 (no ring turn on) press 1 to leave message, dont press anything transfer to phantom phone (ext 41 and ring 5 times) then transfer back to aa1

it transfer to phantom phone but not ring 5 time?? also how to assign aa to line as soon as line 1 call aa1 turn on??
that all i try to set, thanks all

#505-7-19-1, #505-7-20-1 (you've already got this set up, according to your post above)

#206-7-01-1, #206-7-02-1, #206-7-03-1, #206-7-04-1 (assign the lines to be answered by the Automated Attendant)

#506-1-01-X, #506-1-02-X, #506-1-03-X, #506-1-04-X, where X is the number of rings before answering with the Automated Attendant, from 0 to 9

If you don't want to hear the phones ring before the Automated Attendant answers, use Centralized Telephone Programming to set the phones to DELAYED ring (in case the VM fails of all ports are in use, the phones will ring on incoming), and set #506 to less than 4 rings

In the Automated Attendant, set Selector Code 1 for Mailbox Transfer to whatever mailbox you want to receive messages. set the Dial-0/Timeout option to transfer to Ext. 41

Now what's the deal with Ext. 41? It doesn't physically exist, so how can it ring 5 times, and what are you expecting to happen? The Automated Attendant will transfer to Ext. 41, but it doesn't exist, so the call will immediately return to the the Voicemail system. You can assign Automated Attendant to Ext. 41 so that when the call returns the Automated Attendant answers instead of a regular mailbox.

The R1 messaging needs to have the ringing turned off on those ports. F00 Left IC twice right IC enter the ext's for the ports and press the line keys until they rapid flash. Later versions do this automatically. If you don't already have them in HG7 you wouldn't be able to access the VM at all.

budbyrd - it doesn't matter which model and release of voicemail you are using, it is the fact that the voicemail extension ports are programmed into Hunt Group 7 that prevents calls from ringing to VM ports except through #206/#208 and include mode codes that tell the voicemail system what to do with the call. Inspecting them in Centralized Telephone Programming and changing the ringing assignment does nothing

Without the ports in HG 7, they would all ring on incoming calls, all VM ports go off hook trying to answer, don't receive mode codes, and transfer to the CASO

hi TouchToneTommy, i follow instruction but it doesnt work, auto attendant never turn on, messaging module r1, everything factory reset, ring on ext 10 then your call have been transfer then ring on extension 10 again like a loop
i think i know why
call answer operator, if i set to 10 it will call ext 10 first then loop ext 10
if i set to 31 (ext link to aa1) it will turn on aa1
but i want line 1 turn on aa1
