I want the Partner to just ring the phones on a certain line and not get picked up by the AA. No matter what I do the line is picked up by the AA after 4 rings.

I set the #206 for the line to Assigned, Not Assigned and VMS line Cover. The result was the same. The AA picked up after 4 rings. I checked #506 and #507.

I just want the line not to answered by the AA/VM ever. Please Help.
TIA,
f

no, it's just plain old line #3 on the 308 processor.

After you verify that only your voicemail ports are in group 7 (#505) and automatic vms cover is NOT assigned for them (#310) Then its easy.

1. #206,group 7, line 03, 1 assign.
2.#506,1=day or 2=night,line 03, 0 rings
3. #507, line 03, 1 always

Also set your lines to delay ring in centralized programming for all phones to avoid the half ring before the AA answers.

1043, I think that is to assign it to the AA not take it away. you can try turning the ring off on that line for the VM ports. If you have already removed it from the other programing.

Opps, I read that backwords.Do the opposite.
After you verify that only your voicemail ports are in group 7 (#505) and automatic vms cover is NOT assigned for them (#310) Then its easy.

Just #206,group 7, line 03 2 not assigned

tried and checked all suggestions. The line still rings.

The line still rings where? Did you verify your voicemail ports? What voicemail do you have? Is it possible that an outside source is anwsering the call(verizon,qwuest...)?
Are you sure its line 3,(it could be a different line in the third position)?

List your settings for #506,#507,and #206 all for group 7 and line 3.

i have them all written on my desk. it is a pmvs small r3. the line rings 4 times on the phones it is programmed to ring on then is answered by the AA. This worked OK for 9 months.

Check that you don't have anything in #208 for that line. Might also cycle the power off and back on, might clear a goofy problem.

Here is a thought. To check for an outside source answering the call.Try pulling the voicemail card from the system and call the line and see what happens.

There is no outside source answering. The PMVS AA answers after 4 rings.
#208 line 3 data--
#310 ext 10-15 only
#506 set to 6 rings, answers in 4
#505 ext 78 and 79 only
#206 group 7, line 3, unassigned.

Try this.
1. Back up all programming #124 enter
2. Default system #989clear
3. Program #505 group 7, 78 and 79 as 1 assigned.
4. Make test call. ( By default it should never go to AA)

If it still answers then pull the voicemail card and make test call.

Post results.

Cleared system and assigned exts to vm group 7 (#505) The line 3 was not answered by the vm. Restored programming. The VM answers after 4 rings. Programming is as described above. This line shouldn't be getting picked up by the VM.

Do Feature 00 at a display phone with that line on it. Press the line button and see what the display says. Betcha it ain't LO3.

It was line 3 like I checked 5 times. I have been installing Partner since 1989. Since the line didn't get answered by the AA in default condition it must be in the programming.
I turned off line 3 ringing on every station from 10 to 79. I called line 3 and the AA didn't answer. I then assigned line 3 to ring on 1 phone at a time. I got 4 phones to ring on line 3 without the AA answering. I don't know why. I don't know how. All I know is that line 3 doesn't get answered by the AA anymore. 2 hours wasted. If anyone can explain my error I'd love to hear it.

So you defaulted and reprogramed from scratch and that took care of it? Something was corrupted in the original translation that got backed up. Not your fault.
