I've never put a partner system in pool mode. but i have a project that requires pool mode. my questions are will the partner ACS 7 still behave basically the same.

will the only difference be the way the user makes a phone call: they have to select a pool key before dialing out. can you assing one key to access one pook and the other pool key to access another pool?

this project may require the T1 card. not sure yet. can the T1 channels be assigned to the pool? what slot does the T1 card go into?

The processor operates the same, putting it in pool mode makes a few pool commands available to administer the system is the only difference.

Put it in pool mode, all sets will default to pool mode and have their line assignments wiped and replaced with two main pool keys, except 10, which cannot be other than key mode and will have keys for each line/trunk assigned.

Each extension can be either a pool or key station. If a pool, it gets pool keys and can also have line keys for private lines not assigned to any pool. A key station cannot have pool keys assigned.

Users press a pool key and it auto selects the first available line in the pool. Conference & etc using another pool key (can be second button with same pool, it just auto selects the next free line in the pool). If all lines are busy in the pool, the LED will light and no line can be selected until one frees up.

4 pools are available, all lines are assigned to the main pool unless removed. Lines can only be in one pool, or can be in no pool (making them available for key/private line assignments).

T1 card can only go in the left-most slot, uses channels 9-24 and can be assigned to a pool(s). If the T1 is configged as a dedicated channel for a specific number, you can treat that channel as if it were a copper CO line. If the T1 has some or all DID trunks, or one way (inbound only) trunks, those are normally placed in a pool, since nobody "owns" a trunk.

T1 DID numbers ring to the intercom key of the assigned extension, not on the pool key, so that can confuse some users who think the call is from internal. The display does show DID, though. No Caller ID over T1 on an ACS, not even number only.
