I have one small system with 2 of the latest style partner 18D telephones. One extension (11) used to complain that 1/2 of the time the number he dials is not the number he reaches. So I changed the phone, same problem. Then I changed the extension to 12 and he claims same problem. The wiring is brand new and the processor is too (R6). I've never seen this before.

What should I do, reboot, replace phone with older style partner 18d. Any ideas?

Does the the problem happen when calling a specific telephone number or when calling any number [ponder]

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

any number. i moved it from 11 to 12 and it worked fine for a while now it's back. never seen this before!

Is he dialing on Speaker? I have had several instances of "echoey" rooms, where the echo of the TouchTone coming out of the speaker is picked up by the microphone when they let go of the keypad. If so, have them toggle the Mic OFF when they begin dialing (train them to press SPKR and then MIC), or get them to lift the handset before dialing.

great idea, that may be it, it's a strange office.

We are starting to get more calls about this problem. I'm going to look into it more.

I had the customer use the handset and it seems ok. The office has high ceilings, concrete floor so I think it's and echoey office.

I've had bad ports/cable that caused but this situation was different.
