Please help! I am trying to set up voice mail system in Partner mail VS4, but it either does not work or I am doing something wrong. I am trying access it by pressing "Intercom"-777, but I keep getting busy signal.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi igorskiy,
Are the leds on the voicemail on? Is there a red one on? If your voicemail is running okay, then your port assignment must be wrong. In hunt group 7 (#505, 7) assign the voicemail ports. The voicemail card "looks" like a 206E card as far as port assignment goes. The voicemail ports (2 or 4) are counted from the last ports back (ie ports 1 & 2 are never assigned). If you call the correct port and it's not assigned, you will hear "transfering to the operator".
If the correct ports are in hunt group 7, and the voicemail unit appears to be running okay, you may still have a bad voicemail. You should be able to hear the hard drive start and run when the system is turned on.

Hey, Chris,

Thanks a lot. It works! I assigned port 32 and it got me streight to the voicemail. Thanks again!

Chris, if you don'mind my next question is: How can I reset all old passwords back to the default one so I can assign new mail boxes for my users? Thank you.

Hi Igor,
The easiest way that always works is to simply delete all the mailboxes and recreate only the ones you need. Mailbox 10 is your general mailbox. Never create more mailboxes than you are actually using. A # will take you to the next mailbox (when asked for the next mailbox number).
Sounds like you need to assign port 33 as well. If you have a four port, add 30 and 31 as well.

igorskiy,
You can default it back to factory settings if you want, I won't post it here but if you want to default it and start with a fresh Voice Mail let me know and I'll e-mail you.

telprog, please e-mail it to me at igorgorskiy@yahoo.com. Do you know, how can I change a number of rings before a phone call goes to the voicemail? Currently I have voicemail provided by my phone company and I would like to test Partner voicemail system before I discontinue existing voicemail service. But when I make a phone call, it goes to my existing voicemail after four rings. Thanks in advance.

Hi telprog,
You know, I've tried to default a few voicemails before. I've not had any luck. Would you please email me your procedure? Send to bhome@sympatico.ca
Thanks telprog,
-Chris

Use program #506 to assign the amount of rings before VMS answers. Go into program #506, 1=day mode or 2= night mode, then enter the line and change ring count to your needs, then press Next item to program the next line, repeat until you have all lines programmed. Then exit programming and give it a test.
