Having trouble with a Partner mail card ( partner mail VS 5.1 with a 4 port expansion card), I can't access the VM to check program, I dial 777 in ICM and get " your call is being transferred to the attendant, anyone tries to get msg's they are also transferred to the attendant. I have a ACS 308 processor, 206 in slot 1 & 2 206 in slot 4, VM is in slot 5 My vm exts are 40 - 41- 42- 43 I can call them but it goes to the attendant ( your calls is being transferred to the attendant) are these exts controled by he 308 card or the VM card, we've had many thunder storms the last few weeks and I'm thinking the Exts got fried.
everything else works good no other problems. any ideas

Your VM ports are 38-39-40-41
(308 is 10~17, 206 Slot 1 is 18~23, 206 Slot 2 is 24~29, 206 Slot 4 is 30~35, VS in Slot 5 is 36~41.)

Check #505-7-38, #505-7-39, #505-7-40, and #505-7-41 to confirm that they are assigned

My understanding is, if my last ext is 35, I skip the next 4 ports (36-37-38-39) so my first vm port would be 40, am I wrong?
If I have 40 and 41 programed in at #505... I would think at least they would work, I can go over on Monday and test it
Thanks, Mike

The VS mail is seen as a 6-port module, the active ports start at the bottom up, and you have a 4-port upgrade card installed.

TTT gets a star for his excellent visual explanation... I have to write down my ports every time on this stuff lol. As TTT stated VS reserves 6 ports and uses the last ports. So 4 ports would in fact be 38-41.

When you dial 777 it will use one of the ports you have assigned. Since you have 42 and 43 assigned that is why it is not working. As stated you need to make sure that 38-41 are assigned. You also need to make sure that all other ports are unassigned (including 42 and 43 but check all ports).

Ok Gentlemen
went over today and assigned ext 38-39 40-41, for 777 #505 removed 42 and 43, (Thanks TTT) double checked it, still having the same problem, can';t get in to do anything. I assigned DSS buttons for the 4 exts on a phone 38 thru 41, I can see them pick up when called direct or using 777, I still get the VM slut telling me I'm being transferred to the operator. So I know the exts are working good, is my hard drive bad on the VS mail card????

Joyce the Voice (wow, harsh nickname you've given her, but I understand the frustration!!) will give you the "Transferring to Receptionist" when she doesn't get any mode codes from the control unit, or doesn't understand the mode codes that she does get.

You could take 38~41 OUT if HG 7 and put a regular extension INTO the group. Call 777 and see what you hear when you answer. Should be a short series of TouchTones as soon and the phone connects. You could also try a different slot, reprogramming the ports as appropriate, but I'm betting on a bad VS mail at this point.

I Going to order a replacement card and see how it works, I hate messing with pulling out and replacing the cards, this is an Old system and very temperamental. I'll keep you posted and let you know what I find out
Thanks, Mike

Update
Got the refurb partner mailVS 5.0 today put it in, still the same problem, can't access VM in any shape or form, made sure I have 38-39-40-41 assigned in #505..... I used the same expansion card, removed it to see if it would work with just 2 Exts, still nothing, my next replacement would be the 308 processor I would think.... any ideas????

Empty the carrier of the expansion cards, put the VS mail in slot 1, program 20-23 into HG-7, and access through Intercom-777.

If that doesn't work, I don't know what to recommend.

If that does not work, tie a rope around it and you have a new boat anchor.
