I am trying to get outcalling to work properly on Partner Mail r5. I think I have everything set up properly, but when it outcalls to notify of a voicemail, it doesn't give any menu options. You answer and the voice says, "Goodbye" and hangs up. I'm beginning to get a complex... ;-)

Does anybody have any suggestions about what I can do to get this to work properly?

Thanks!

Do you have it set for outcalling to a telephone? I think not. You have it set to call a radio pager.

No, I thought of that and have double checked to make sure it's set to telephone. Thanks for the tip but I'm afraid that's not it.

Further clarification on what's happening. I tried assigning outcalling to another mailbox (#14) and it worked fine. My mailbox (#22) however is not working. Does it have something to do with the port #s for Partner Mail being #20 and #21? I have reset my mailbox and it still is not outcalling properly.

No. Have you tried resetting the system? Easiest way to do this is to pull the plug then plug it back in. One of the first things you should try when you have problems.

okieopie,
I would reset the system. Just to go over a few things because it sounds like the system is contacting the cell phone. Try using a land line instead of using the cell phone to test and make sure the system is understanding the touch tones being pressed. After you test it with a land line and it works then test it with another cell phone and see if it will work. That will help you see if it is the system or possibly the cell phone. Some times the Partner does not understand the tones from the cell phones in areas the cell phones may be in.

You say the VM ports are 20 and 21; are you sure the extension 22 isn't numbered in the same slot? If it has a physical phone ignore this question; if it is an extension in software only, make sure it wouldn't "number" in the same slot (they count as a 206) as your voice mail. Does that make sense? D

okiopie,
To add to what phonesaz is getting at, tell us what you have. 5 slot carrier, 2 slot carrier, how many modules you have ect. The only time you should hear "Goodbye" when in the voicemail is when someone has picked up to answer a call that has went to vm for "That" extension.
