Hi there.. I'm new to this forum. I want to see if I can get my partner system to hunt the incoming lines. AT&T is currently doing the hunting at their location. Is it possible for my partner system to do this instead. Have 5 incoming lines and 12 extentions.
Thanks,
T

Like allisland said "no". AT&T establishes the hunting because they are responsible for getting the calls to you.

In Key mode, the processor will establish a hunt sequence (in which order are the lines selected when someone goes to make a call).

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

Thanks guys.. but if I do not use AT&T and use T-Mobile@home.. a VOIP I guess.. I get dialtone to the partner system, can I then have the Partner system hunt the lines?
Thanks,
T

No, I guess I should have expanded my answer before,
Incoming hunt groups have to be programmed by the dial tone provider, think of it like this, you have 5 lines with a main number, that is the one dialed, when the first one is busy, any other calls to that number will get a busy, the call will never get to the Partner.

The hunting is always done at the phone company, no matter if it is AT&T, Charter Cable, or T-Mobile VOIP.

The Partner system just receives the call on which ever line the phone company sends the call in on.

Most "non-phone company" phone companies do not understand hunting. Sometimes, they will set up "Call Forward on Busy" from Line 1 to Line 2, and from Line 2 to Line 3, etc.

You may have a web page to manage your T-Mobile@home account, where you can set up the hunt sequence yourself, without having to talk with a customer "service" representative.
