How long should a Partner and Partner ACS last by the book?

There is no "book value" for the life of a phone system. So long as it does what a customer needs, it can last forever. There are still many 1A2 and Merlin Classic systems just working their hearts out...

With proper care, Partner ACS modules can last for a good long time.

Common problems in very old Partner systems include noisy ports and power supply failures. A competent repair facility can fix those problems quite easily, but an upgrade to the ACS is generally recommended. [thumbsup2]

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

a sales person would say... "a smb phone system will last 7 to 9 years.

Or old (pre-ACS) Parnters finally have their internal batteries fail, which is a huge problem if there is a power outage and they lose all their programming...especially if they use voice mail. Next to noisy/bad ports on ext 10-11, this is the main reason I upgrade old Partners to ACS's.
