I have a customer with a partner 2, twin cabinets, and (6) 206E cars, and the two processor cards only. I have to add a 206E to the system. The VM unit is the PC based mail using 4 ports to inteface with the system. I would normally make the VM ports be the last ones on the system, but since this is just an analog ext interface, and not a VM card going into the cabinet slot, is this really needed?

Any other advice would also be welcome, as I do not work on partner 2's that much since I do not even see them in the field much anymore.

Thanks for your advice in advance.

with the pc based partner mail I put the ports anywhere

on something that old I like to space the ports out between a couple of 206 cards (in case a power supply takes a 206 out you still have some active VM ports

I also keep them on the first cabinet in case the expansion goes down

Only reason to move them would be the hole in the dial plan. If that doesn't matter, I'd just leave them alone.
