Is there a headset adaptor for the Partner System, which allows the attendant to answer calls without lifting handset.

go to Metrolinedirect.com, under headset , lucent avaya go to Partner base unit

I use a single line headset phone plugged into the aux jack

phone rings she just hits the on key ,flash to put it on hold and transfer

which model of a single line headset phone do you use or recommend?

I like plantronics

for a cordless headset soultion the ct-10

or for corded

plantronoics t10

for a few extra dollars the receprionists like the cordless
soultion

you do need to copy the info from the manual as to single line phone usage and then spend a little time with the receponist as to usage

The best solution I've seen is the CT10 made by Plantronics.
It is, essentially, a cordless phone that you plug into the AUX port on the bottom of the partner phones. Its small has a belt clip and a headset. And the best part is you don't need a handset lifter.
The CT10 will not work on Merlin Magix ETR ports. The analog Aux port is disabled.

Hope this helps.

Just as another note. You can use the feature buttons on a Partner phone. Just take it off speaker once you are done dialing or whatever. We have a couple customers that love to use both devices at once.
Plantronics is our brand of choice (and Avaya when the price is right).
