We have a PARTNER ACS system. We are using a front and back Door Phone on the system. The one in the front has lost the ability to transmit for the second time. We replaced the door phone and it solved the problem. It is now less than a year later and it has failed again. Has anyone had a similar experience? Is it possible that there may be something
external causing it? The back door has never failed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, GilGilmore

I recently had a Viking door phone go bad (outside, but covered). I replaced it and it failed within a day. I talked to Viking and they said it was probably the door phone. I replaced that one (under warranty) and still no dice. It sporadically worked with one-way audio. I figured maybe the door phone controller was the issue so I replaced it and neither the original door phone or the replacements would work with the new controller. I got Viking tech support on the line again and they recommended getting another door phone again. I did this and it has worked ever since (knock on wood). The tech support rep I talked to said the door phones do fail out of the box and recently after. I had never had this issue before. I wonder if they had a bad batch of door phones.

Thats a good point.

GilGilmore, Is it an Avaya LUADS or an Avaya LUUDS

Because of their exposure to a wide range of weather conditions (even when protected by a housing) LUADS units tend to have shorter lifespans than system telephones. Electronics do not like extreme conditions.
