I am able to locate a Partner CA-48 in the EURO style but I can not locate a Parnter CA-24 in the EURO style only in the MLS style.

I am only using 16 stations and 14 lines on this install. Can I use the MLS-CA-24 with this application or must I only use a MLS with an MLS and a EURO with a EURO.

Are there any advantages to using the CA-48?

What DSS button programming must be done or will the buttons automatically light up for the stations being used as soon as I plug it into the AUX port on my EURO 18D?

I think I have a ca24 euro black in the back room that I bought for a customer that changed his mind Ill look and if I do Ill list it on ebay for you . and let you know here

you can use the mls ca 24 with a euro phone it just wont look spiffy .

after you plug it in you go and program the buttons just like any of the other buttons on the phone , you do need to program them though as they defualt as blank

the only advantage of the 48 over the 24 is extra progamable buttons

Thanks. How much do you want for the ca-24 is it black and what condition is it in. Do you have pics of it.

Also, what can the ca-48 buttons be programmed for?

Will these DSS buttons be preassigned as station buttons or do I have to do any button programming to activate them?

Do you know were I can get some tech. info on the ca-24 and ca-48?

Follow Up:

Would it be better to use a 34D instead of adding the CA-24 or CA-48? Will the 34D provide DSS routing the Recp. This is for a 16X14 Partner ACS.

The recp. needs to see when an ext. is busy and use 1 touhc DSS transfer.

What would you suggest?

I would use the 34d if that gives you enough buttons
14 lines plus 15 dss buttons you should be ok
I dont recall offhand how many programable buttons the 34d provides

if you need more than that then add the ca24

34D will give you 32 buttons with lights, 2 fixed intercom buttons, and 4 buttons without lights.

Don't forget you need a button with lights for DND, Night Service, Call Logs, Call Screen, Call Record, etc. Voice Mail, Transfer to Voice Mail, Redial, Page, etc can go on the buttons without lights.

Very good point. So that means that I would not be able to give the attendant a lot of "special feature and services" buttons if I am going to use up so many buttons.

What esle can I program the CA-48 buttons for if I am only going to hae 16 stations on this system or are they only for DSS stations.

Will these buttons on the CA-48 automatically be assigned as soon as I plug it into the AUX port on the 18D or 34D or must I program them?

I have tried to locate tech and install specs for the ca-24 and CA-48. Any suggested links for docs?

you may not need DSS for all your extensions , we typically exclude , confrence room , lucnch room , mail room and other conveince phones expecially if its a matter of fitting all the features in a limited number of buttons . also most fetures can be accsed without having a conveince button

(vm , vm transfer , page ect )

the ca 24/48 buttons can be programed for anything you would program any button for . features , dss/blf , lines , speed dial .ect

heres the ca48 install guide pdf (24 would be the same)

Thnaks. So then when I go into programming mode for that extension I assume that all the LED's on the set and the CA will light up. Then I just touch the button I choose to select to program and go forward with the usual button programming procedure?

thats it , it will light up right along with the buttons on the phone .

glad it helped

say you don't happen to be dave "the phone doctor" who used to live just north of tampa ?

I think that the DSS's buttons can ONLY be programmed for DSS/BLF (auto intercom), although you can choose the order that you put them in (you can group departments even if they are not sequential extension numbers), and you can program them as either ringing or voice announce (but not one of each). If you put a station on the phone set, it will automatically wipe it off the DSS, and vice versa. By default, every extension is programmed, in sequence, from 10 to 57, from top left going down.
