I'm new to the Avaya systems. I have a customer that wants one line to go straight to voicemail when the line is called. I'm not sure what I am doing incorrect because the voicemail system will only pick up the line after two rings. If anyone has any suggestions to what I might be overlooking, that would be awesome. Remember, I'm new to Avaya, so speak slow.. :)

Thanks,
Joe Ortmann

Does the customer want incoming calls on this phone line to go right to a specific mailbox or do they want the incoming calls to go right to the auto attendant without having any of the telephones ring and having the caller choose from the options given to them by the greeting? [ponder]

" customer that wants one line to go straight to voicemail when the line is called."

Do your programming from Ext. 10 or 11

Feature 00, Left Intercom TWICE gets you started.

Remove the line from the Auto Attendant, by dialing #206-NN-2, where NN is the line number (01 for line 1, 02 for line 2, etc.)

Assign the mailbox that will answer it, by dialing #208-NN-XX, where NN is the line number, and XX is the extension number.

Make sure that extension has Auto VMS Coverage (it probably already does, but check it anyway) by dialing #310-XX-1

Feature 00 to quit

Now as long as that extension also rings on that particular line, its mailbox will answer the line when it rings and is not answered elsewhere.

That worked great! Thanks for the help!
