My company has a Partner ACS R2, we are finally using the Auto attendant after having it for so long. The system is setup to ring twice (to get Caller ID) play A.A. greeting, transfer to extension, or ring receptionist if caller presses 0 or nothing.

The problem is that #506 only gives me the option to set delayed or immediate ring. No night/day option, no # of rings option. So the respectionist's phone rings everytime. I do not want the receptionist's phone to ring before the A.A. picks up.

Is there a work around?

you need to take the ringer off her extension. From extension 10: Feature 00, left intercom button twice, right intercom button once, then enter 10, then each of the lines will appear as a solid green light. Press each of them until they are a fast flutter and the display reads -N next to each (no ring). Now a call will ring twice before the AA (if that part is programmed correct) and if 0 is pressed it will ring ext. 10.

Thank you Telecomboy.

How about if the caller does nothing after the A.A. message? Pressing 0 is good, but my boss wants to make sure that anyone who calls will talk to a human (after the A.A.) and not be put on hold forever or disconnected?

I would suggest setting the extensions to delayed ring versus no ring. If your ports are busy or the v-mail is down and the extensions don't ring you will get ring no answer until someone figures it out.
