I've recently upgraded from Partner ACS R1 to R7 and it's been so long since I programmed on the old system that it seems I've forgotten more than I've learned. Here is the setup and situation that is driving me batty:

Slot 1: 206E Module
Slot 2: 206E Module
Slot 3: Partner ACS 506 R7
Slot 4: Partner Mail VS R4.1

No extras other than a backup/restore card.

The way it was setup before was that all of the phones in this small office would ring when a call came in on any of the 5 lines we have. It would ring 5 times and then get sent to a general (receptionists) mailbox. I really liked this setup and I don't know what I'm doing wrong to get this back to the way it was.

The only reason we upgraded was so that it can be easily programmed from the PC (which I haven't gotten to work either, but that is for another topic).

My extensions go from 10-30, I have 5 lines, and a migraine headache.

What can I possibly be doing wrong here? What's the secret potion?

Any help will be greatly appreciated as I'm on the brink of installing string and tin cans for a new phone network.

TIA

What are the calls doing now? Are they just ringing? If so you need to assign the ports on the vm module feature 00 left intercom key twice # 505 then depending on if you have a 2 port, 4 port or 6 port license card it will be 31,32 or 31, 32, 33, and 34 or 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 and 36 to 1 assigned. Tell me what the calls are doing currently and one of us out here will help you solve this issue.

Thanks for the quick get back!

What the calls are doing now is:
It doesn't ring at all and just goes to "You are being transferred to the receptionist" recording. Then the receptionist phone rings and no one else's does. What I would like it to do is just have all of the phones ring without the recording.

My bosses prefer a "human" voice rather than the auto attendant.

Man, you guys are quick...

Thanks

feature 00, left intercom twice, #206, group 7 needs to be unassigned(2). once you unassign lines 1-5 from group 7 your phones should start to ring.

you also want to change #208 if you want the call to go directly to ext 10 voicemail after 5 rings. if you want an auto attendant than there is no need for #208.

You don't have your voice mail ports assigned to Hunt Group 7. Since it is VS mail, the VM ports are 35 & 36 for a 2 port mail, or 33-36 for a 4 port.

#505-7-36-1
#399-36-35, and if you have a 4 port mail, -34-33 as well.

Then assign the lines to the Auto Attendant, #206-7-01-1, #206-7-02-1, etc. for the 5 lines.

Finally, set the number of rings before answering, #506-(1=day/2=night)-(line number)-(number of rings from 0-6).

THAT WORKED!!!

Thanks a million

Be aware of some issues that might arise between the ACS R7 and the Partner Mail VS 4.1. Mainly the use of the DND function. Calls are not routed correctly for a user using DND. Avaya has admitted to the problem and will only support the Partner Mail VS5.
