Hello All,

Are there much differances between the two? If so , what are they?
Thanks for your help?

The R5 allows the use of a 012 module to add 12 stations, and the SDSL module which adds 16 incoming lines over a synchronous DSL line. Neither mod is very popular as we have sold zero of either one.

Thank you Brian for the info. I didn't think there were a lot of differences.
Now I can lay my client to rest( smile)

Thanks again

Hi Lou,
If you need later features, the unit can be upgraded anyhow. I took an ACS R3 to R5 so I could use an 012 card. Therefore, no rush on an upgrade.

Thanks you. That's a good idea for future

What configuration options are available with the 012 card?? - the manual states a max of 48 extensions but doesn't give any detail on card combos - 4 x 012 plus the 308 should lead to 56 extensions - obviously not realistic with only 3 lines but i have never seen any documentation explaining this.

The system is only capable of haveing 2 012 mods in the system. As well, you need to watch out for power issues. You cannot have Partner 34d on each port of the 012 mods, it will cause lock-ups of the phones.

Hi all,
Actually, the phones will power down if you have large phones on most ports and you page the group through the speakers with the volume up. The phones should come back up. As it happens, I do have a system with an ACS R5, 1 X 308EC, 2X 012 & and mail VS R5. No troubles yet. The phones are MLS 12D's and SLP's with about 6 Partner 18D. Anyhow, it's a power overload situation & that's it.

Thank you all for all of your input!!
