I am using a Partner ACS that has expansion modules 400e r3.1 and I was able to get Caller ID before on the 18d display sets. I am getting ready to install this again and I was told that I must use a 400ec in order to get CID.

I used this very same system before and I did not have a problme getting CID. Am I misunderstanding something?

This system I have has the following in order from L to R:

1 308ec Module R3.0
1 Partner Mail VS R4.1
1 ACS Proc.
1 400e Module R3.1
1 400e Module R3.1

I am installing a total of 16 Stations and 14 lines.

does the fact that the 308ec module have the "ec" after it mean that I WILL have CID on all stations or must the expansion modules the 400e have to be 400ec otherwise lines plugged into these modules will NOT allow CID to be sent to teh sets?

I am confused?

Use analog phones, not system phones if they are going to do outbound calls only. They can dial 9 for an outside line, and you can use any standard analog phone, including cordless, or even the plantronics headset that has a dialpad built in. They would not have enough buttons for system feature buttons anyway, they can call interoffice by not dialing 9, and they can use a flash button for transfers.
Just an option.

You do not always get what you pay for, but you never get what you do not pay for.

Actually that is the direction I seem to be going with this install. I went looking on line and found that both Plantronics and GN Netcom have single line standard sets with headsets.

This will allow for much less clutter ont he desk and an easier way for my client to train since each outbounf agent will be making only one call at a time and may only need to transfer. I will have to see if they need an intercom but I don;t think they do.

As far as the telephones with headsets does anyone have any input on using the Plantronics vs the Gn Netcom single line dial pad with headset?

The GN Netcom 7100 with a dialed number an timer display look pretty good. I also can choose any headset top.
