Do you mean you hear .5 of a ring prior to the attendant answering? If so, you need to remove line ringing from each extension. From x10, Feature 00, Left Intercom twice, Right Intercom once, enter the first extension, you'll notice all lines light up solid green. Press each one until they are a fast flutter (no ring), then press the right intercom button to go on to the next extension.

Yes, there's a half ring before AA intervenes. If I follow the procedure you describe (and thx for posting), am I correct in thinking I've turned off the pre-AA ring but not the post-AA ring. IOW, once AA sends the call to extension 19 (say), 19 will ring as usual?

Yes. You are turning off the inbound ringing only. Once a call transfers out of the attendant, it will ring the appropriate phone.
You can also set for delayed ring (slow flashing) so that if the AA fails your phones will start ringing on the third ring.
