it was suggested that I could use the Avaya 62XX series phones with a Partner 11.

I got some used 6221 and tonight we fired the vm up and it dosnt light the MW lamp.

I tried it both thru leaving a VM message and Manually turning the lamp in thru feature code

I can plug a system phone in the port and the MW light on the system phone comes on so it seems to be a compatablity issue with the lamp type .

did avaya make thes phones with diffrent types of lamps ?

any suggestions would be much appreciated

do all partner 11 releases use the same type of lamp ?

What release 206 cards are you using? Earlier ones (I'd have to look up the release) wern't compatible with S/L MW.

Ill have to check I think its a mix, two 2.0 a 3.0 and a 4.1

I think the ports I was trying where on the 3.0

I'll be back on site tues and try it on the 4.1

does the processor realease matter ?

its a 3.0

I think you'll be fine on the 4.1, the 2.0 and 3.0's are too early. The processor shouldn't matter.

I just went thru the manuals on the avaya site and processor 3.0 says no message waiting on single line

processor 3.1 does support single message waiting .

so the first stepp is going to have to be a processor upgrade . I had been thinking of upgrading to 4.1 anyway for the hospitality features .

thanks for the quick responses its nice to get the problem pinned down quickly
