Hi,

Can I recover/restore partiton info to a drive?

I had a 1TB Lacie HD, The enclosure failed but the 2 x 465GB drives inside were fine. I had previously put 4 or 5 partitons on the drives and although they dont show in mycomputer I ca see that the data is still there using 'Restorer 2000 Pro Demo', it shows the partitons and correct sizes but instead of the letter nd name that I had given each partiton it just says partition 1 through 4

Can I somehow restore my original partiton info?

Thanks for any help
Shaun

it shows the partitions and correct sizes...

These will not be the same as before as there was probably some software involved in the LaCie rig. I would say forget the partitions, get that data off there ASAP and onto a more stable drive.

Thanks guys for the advice

Is there a good free recovery program that you can recomend?

Shaun

Most of us use commercial software, e.g. Get Data Back or Ontrack Data Recovery, I've only tried Recuva with mixed results...

Here are some Free Data recovery softwares:

Restoration

Recuva - File Recovery

PC INSPECTOR™ File Recovery 4.x

NT File Recovery (scroll down to almost the end, and CLICK only the GREEN ARROW)
